Delete a site¶
Delete a site when you no longer translate it with Ponyglot. You need the owner role.
Warning
Deleting can’t be undone. Ponyglot deletes the site’s data right away.
What is deleted, and what stays¶
Deleted:
the site’s pages and objects, their texts and translations, including translations still waiting in the review queue,
its translation jobs, target languages and brand voice,
its API keys: the connector on your website stops working at once,
the translation memory entries only this site taught.
Kept:
translation memory entries that other sites of your organization taught too, entries from TMX imports and entries you added in the dashboard,
your glossary,
usage already recorded, on your statements, without the site’s name.
Translations already in your CMS stay there. Drafts waiting for review are no longer reported back to Ponyglot.
Before you delete¶
Keep the translations? Export the translation memory under Memory › Export (TMX). Without its entries, other sites pay again for the same sentences.
Stop the sync on your website, or connect it to another site:
ponyglot syncfails once the API key is gone.Your subscription doesn’t change. On a per-site plan, the place this site takes goes to your next site; to pay for fewer sites, change the subscription under Billing.
A site can’t be deleted while a translation job runs for it.
Delete it¶
Open the site and choose Settings, next to its name at the top.
At the bottom, under Delete this site, choose Delete site….
The next page lists what will be deleted, for example the number of translation memory entries, and what it means for your website and subscription.
Type the site’s name and choose Delete site and its data.
Connecting the website again later starts from scratch: a new site, a new API key and a first sync. Existing translations on your website are imported again.
