Manage billing and check usage

Hosted translation needs a subscription. This guide shows how owners choose and manage a plan, and how everyone can follow the organization’s usage. Plans and prices are on the pricing page; what each plan includes is in Plans and usage.

Choose a plan

Only owners see the Billing page.

  1. Open Billing in the dashboard.

  2. Choose a plan, monthly or yearly (two months free).

  3. If you have a discount code, for example from the early-access programme, enter it first.

  4. Complete the checkout.

Our reseller Paddle handles the payment, invoices and VAT. After the checkout, it can take a moment until the subscription shows on the Billing page.

Cover your sites (Pro)

Pro is priced per site. The Billing page shows how many of your sites the subscription covers. After adding a site, choose Cover all sites to add it to the subscription; the change is prorated. Until then, translation jobs for the new site fail with site_not_covered.

The Agency plan covers up to 10 sites without changes to the subscription.

Invoices, payment method and cancellation

On the Billing page, choose Invoices, payment method and cancellation. This opens Paddle’s customer portal. After cancelling, you can choose a plan again from the Billing page at any time.

Check usage

Every member can open Usage:

  • Included characters shows, for each usage scope, the characters used this month, the included volume and the characters beyond it. Pro counts per site; the other plans count for the whole organization.

  • By site and engine lists the billable characters, and the characters saved by the translation memory and by repeated texts.

  • Choose another month to see the previous months.

Usage months are calendar months in UTC, also with yearly billing. Owners and admins get an email when a scope reaches 80 % and 100 % of its included characters in a month.

Connectors can show the same numbers: GET /v1/usage returns this month’s figures for the site’s usage scope.

Go beyond the included volume

Translation continues when the included characters are used up. Characters beyond the included volume are billed after the month; see the pricing page. Before a job uses characters beyond the included volume, Ponyglot asks for confirmation (see Request translations).
